Liquor Campaign: TASMAC shops to shut an hour early by 10pm!

One good news from the Tamilnadu Govt.
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday announced that all TASMAC outlets across the state would down their shutters by 10 p.m. and that no

new liquor retail outlets, managed by the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), would be opened. The announcement is seen as a move on the part of the ruling DMK to please its ally, the PMK.
Chief minister M Karunanidhi's announcement came a day after a delegation comprising religious and social leaders and representatives from non-governmental organisations led by PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss met the chief minister to seek total prohibition in the state. It was only recently that the PMK had returned to the DMK fold after a bitter spat. The decision today is a clear bid to humour PMK leader Dr. S Ramadoss and his son and union minister, Anbumani Ramadoss, spearheading a liquor campaign in the state and across the country.
